President’s Message

November 16, 2020

Hello Drew Valley Neighbors –

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the beautiful Fall colors in the neighborhood! The DVCA wanted to reach out and share some exciting news. Jerry Farinola has joined the DVCA as our NEW
Vice President! Jerry comes onboard with a wealth of knowledge about how to lead an association as he was previously President of the North Springs Homeowners’ Association in Sandy Springs prior to
moving to Drew Valley. Jerry’s focus for the DVCA will be centered around crime prevention and enhancing the neighborhood by assisting the Beautification Committee. Please take a moment and congratulate Jerry!

Additionally, you might have seen the DVCA “Blue” flyers around the neighborhood. Our NEW Beautification Committee Chair, Leah Balboa Benoit, took the initiative to distribute out to the neighborhood to help the DVCA increase our email directory. We would love to hear from you and have you share your email information with the DVCA, so we can keep you informed of our neighborhood happenings. Simply go to drewvalley.org and complete this form – it takes less than two minutes!

If you are interested in getting involved in the neighborhood, reach out to us at drewvalleylife@gmail.com as we are still building out our social, beautification, fundraising committees (to name a few!) and would love to have you be part of the fun!!

We are excited to continue making Drew Valley a great place to call home!

Sarah Moffat, President

Drew Valley Civic Association

September 7, 2020

Hello Drew Valley Neighbors!  I wanted to take a moment and provide an update on the Drew Valley Civic Association (DVCA).  Over the past few weeks since the new Executive Committee was elected, we have been busy revitalizing the association.  We have successfully completed the following:

·       Transitioned items from the previous administration to the new administration

·       Updated our government standings with Georgia Sec of State & 501c(4)

·       Secured a PO Box

·       Created a Communication Committee to help create quarterly newsletters & manage our digital assets

·       Created a New Neighbor Welcome Committee to welcome new residents who have recently moved into Drew Valley

·       Drew Valley Intersection Committee continued to address the Drew Valley Rd / Buford Highway solid median and the impact to our neighborhood by submitting a request for action to GDOT

·       Zoning Committee continued to stay up to date on zoning, planning, development, and related issues in the City of Brookhaven that directly affect Drew Valley

The best part is this is just the beginning of what the DVCA is going to be able to accomplish for our neighborhood.  We are currently working on determining what our priorities will be for the back half of 2020 and 2021.  We would love to hear from you on what you would like the DVCA to accomplish.  We also invite you to join the DVCA to help on one of our committees.  Just email drewvalleylife@gmail.com or complete this form and let us know your preference!

The DVCA will continue to keep you posted on our activities and upcoming meetings both on Nextdoor Neighbor and on our website www.drewvalley.org.  Our next quarterly meeting will be held virtually via Zoom on October 14 and we will start communicating meeting details in the coming weeks.  In the meantime if you would like to learn more about the DVCA additional information can be found at www.drewvalley.org however if you need anything, have a recommendation or question please reach out to the DVCA Executive Committee or email drewvalleylife@gmail.com.  We are excited to continue making Drew Valley a great place to call home!
